Blending Beauty and Medicine

I sometimes get asked what my beauty routine is for my skin and if I get regular facials. Being a pharmacist and also having worked closely with dermatologists the past 5 years  I truly believe that every woman, no matter what age, should see a dermatologist on a regular basis. It is great to cleanse, tone, and moisturize on a daily basis but our skin needs more care and attention and this is especially true in our 30's and beyond.

It is important to visit with a dermatologist and have him or her make a diagnosis and treatment recommendations specifically tailored to your skin.  And if you have not gone this route you will be surprised that treatments like glycolic and salicylic acid peels are typically the same price as getting a facial at a spa.

Currently I am getting the Illuminize Peel with Gentle Waves about once a month and my skin has a healthy glow and feels so smooth. With these treatments I don't even need to get additional facials.

Do you see a dermatologist on a routine basis? And have you tried glycolic acid, salicylic acid peels, microdermabrasion, or any other treatments for your skin?
