How To Perk Up Your Style

Spring is finally officially here. Yay! Today I am excited to introduce you to my new assistant and aspiring stylist Lindsay Tondryk. Lindsay is sharing some style tips about how to perk up your style this spring season.

About Lindsay

Lindsay is originally from Rochester (upstate), NY where she graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a degree in International Business and Marketing.

Lindsay works as a Corporate Recruiter for a non-for-profit in Washington DC. Although she enjoys Corporate Recruiting she has always had a passion to become a stylist. She was inspired by clothes, colors and patterns ever since she was little girl picking out her own outfits. When she studied in Paris, she fell in love with European fashion and knew this is where she belonged!

Lindsay enjoys traveling, dancing, trying new restaurants and exploring the city! When she isn’t working she is visiting fun places and always trying to plan her next adventure!

Do you ever wake up in the morning and throw on the same pair of black pants?

What about the white button down you keep trying to wear every day? Those same black pumps? We are all fashion victims to looking the same or dressing the same on a daily basis. But why not break the rules a little, and learn how to "perk up" your style:

bright lights

Bright Lights

Pair a bright yellow or fuchsia skirt, with your favorite print top. This could be leopard, stripes or polka dots. I love Atlantic-Pacific bloggers look with the 1950's full skirt, paired with a loosely fitted sweater. It's timeless.

Other ways to wear bright colors: all black ensemble with a vibrant bag, pairing a bright neon cardigan with a fitted pencil skirt for work.

Check out Tobi's lace skirt! Perfect for day or night!

It's all about the fine print...

Mixing Prints

This spring is all about effortless prints. Mix prints together for a fresh look like Olivia Palermo in her floral print top and flowy skirt.

Tip: try keeping the prints in the same color palettes

Mixing animals prints and geographic prints can be so chic. Olivia mixes black and white elephant print shorts with a black and white button down top. She pulls it together with a black boyfriend blazer and solid laced shoes. Perfectly chic Olivia!

Pair a loose silhouette leather dress with a bright shoe like Olivia Palermo . A loose leather dress can be great for the office or saturday night drinks!

Zara offers a similar silhouette (faux leather)

Personally, my go-to outfit is leather pants or leggings with my favorite oversized sweater or t-shirt!

Of course, I love Kim Kardashian's look with her sheer top for a steamy day night.

Check out these sexy leather biker leggings for a casual Sunday stroll from Tobi.

Monochrome

Break the rules, pair those red denim jeans with your washed out red shirt. Didn't you know, all one color is the new black??

Tip: Mix fabrics and textures for the best look! Like a sheer violet top with a leather violet pencil skirt.

Try: Denim on denim! Why not? Rock it with a fun heel!

Pair this maroon leather skirt with a matching oversized sweater for work, trendy AND professional.

Add a bright gold statement piece to tie the ensemble together, and voila you are perked!
