How To Style Loungewear in 2021
Most of us have changed how we dressed in 2020 by gravitating towards casual and cozy loungewear. And it’s safe to assume that loungewear is going to stay with us in 2021 and beyond as a top fashion choice. We will see more hybrid and crossover pieces that are multi functional- pieces you can wear in your home office and also to a socially distanced meet up with friends and family. Comfort will be key, and we will want pieces that are functional, elevated, well designed, and stylish. So today I am sharing some style tips on how to style your loungewear in 2021.
How to Style Loungewear
1. Choose a neutral palette
Choose a neutral palette for your loungewear. This will make it easy to mix and match pieces and it will also make your loungewear look more elevated and chic. And remember loungewear doesn’t have to be baggy sweats all the time. Loungewear can consist of matching knitwear sets, separates like leggings and long cardigans, and even cozy knit dresses.
2. Layer loungewear with unexpected pieces
Have fun with your loungewear by adding layers. Consider a trench coat, blazer, cardigan, scarf, leather jacket, or a long coat. Adding an extra layer will give a more polished and put together look- perfect for quick errands and coffee runs. Also, don’t forget your footwear and invest in a good pair of white sneakers or flat ankle boots. Sneakers will make the outfit look more casual chic and ankle boots will add just a touch of sophistication.
3. Consider proportions
Definitely consider proportions with your loungewear. If you wear baggy top and joggers the entire look will look too casual and frumpy. It’s perfectly fine if you’re cozied up watching Netflix, but if you’re going out or working from home it’s better to dress it up a bit. Not only it look like you made an effort, but you will feel better. I recommend investing in a couple of pairs of really good fitting and high quality joggers. I have linked up a few cute ones below.
4. Accessorize your look
Lastly have fun with your loungewear with the use of accessories. Try a solid oversized scarf or even something printed to mix things up a bit. Consider jewelry such as a chunky gold necklace over a tank top or tee. And if you’re heading out make use of those bags collecting dust in your wardrobe. All of these options will instantly take your look up a notch.
